That’s why Medicom leveraged its three decades of infection control expertise to create a free digital education platform, Medicom University.

Recently launched for dental professionals across North America, our team is eager to share its expertise about infection control best practices. So, one might wonder: will this new platform really help you navigate health and safety guidelines for your clinic? The answer is yes.

Medicom University: What’s in it for you?

Though CE courses have been around for a while, our team realized that the demand for continuing education surrounding infection control has very much increased since the pandemic.

The idea to build Medicom University as a digital platform came from our customers. Many of them noticed a knowledge gap between the new health and safety guidelines created in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and how they could be applied to daily reality within their dental clinics.

Best in Class Infection Control Content

The recently launched Medicom University website currently covers infection control basics. However, we will be gradually introducing new content that will reflect our customer’s questions and evolving health and safety guidelines.

As customer centricity is a key value at Medicom, it is important that the recommendations in our trainings are as feasible as they are relevant to your day-to-day tasks and comply with the regulations.

“We want our customers to become their own trusted source, to be more conscious about the products they’re using and understand how they work. When it comes to teaching, I’m hoping that dental professionals gain information they didn’t have before so that they are constantly learning what solution will work best in their clinic,” says Liza Cruz, Medicom University speaker and Medicom Territory Manager.

Our new hand hygiene course is the perfect example. While it is common knowledge that hand hygiene is a simple yet effective way to prevent the spread of infections, many of our customers were unclear on the different steps as well as when to use soap and water versus. antiseptic hand wash. Also, during a single appointment, there are usually multiple opportunities to perform hand hygiene. The content of this course will clarify the correct way to perform hand hygiene, when handwashing should be performed, and which method should be used in various scenarios. It will also cover glove selection and proper fitting.
