Frequently Asked Questions
How are Classics masks constructed?
Their outer and inner layers are made of non-woven spunbond polypropylene: the outer layer provides maximum protection against fluid penetration and the inner layer is dye-free and won’t lint or tear during use. Their shingle pleat design prevents fluid pooling and cross-contamination.
Are Classics masks breathable?
Yes. High quality media ensures optimal filtration and breathability.
Will the Classics mask earloops irritate my skin?
No. The ample length earloops are soft, strong, ultrasonically sealed and attached to the outside of the mask to prevent pulling and irritation.
Is the Classics mask nosepiece adjustable?
Yes. The enclosed plastic-covered-iron nose piece adjusts easily to provide customized protection and comfort.
What ASTM levels are Classics masks available in?
Classics masks are available in all 3 ASTM levels.
Why do masks have shingle pleats?
To prevent the pooling of fluids which would increase the risk of fluid penetration.
What colours do SafeMask Classics masks come in?
They are available in blue, pink, lavender and white.
Does the coloured side go on the inside or the outside?
The coloured side always goes on the outside (away from the face). The ear loops are sonicated on the outside of the mask.
Do Medicom masks contain latex?
No. All Medicom masks are latex free, except the pink cone masks.
