Selection criteria: 

Kill Claims

  • Does the product kill the pathogens that are of concern in your facility? (Consider both HIAs and those that can cause outbreaks/pandemics.)

 Kill/Contact Times

  • Kill Time is the time it takes a disinfectant to kill an individual pathogen/group of pathogens.
  • Contact Time is the time it takes a disinfectant to kill all the pathogens listed on its label.

Product Safety

  • Does the product have acceptable toxicity and flammability ratings? 
  • Is it compatible with most surfaces in your facility? 
  • Is personal protection equipment required when using it?

Ease of Use

  • Is the product ready to use or does it require preparation?
  • Does the product come in convenient forms like wipes and spray?
  • Does it clean and disinfect in a single step, or are multiple steps required?
