Montreal, Quebec – March 5th, 2025. Québec-headquartered Medicom Group (“Medicom”), one of the world’s leading providers of infection prevention and control solutions, proudly welcomed Christine Fréchette, Quebec’s Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy, to its Montreal factory to celebrate the facility’s fifth anniversary.

Since its opening at the height of the pandemic, the Stinson factory has been a pillar of local mask production, contributing significantly to Quebec’s healthcare supply chain.

“We are deeply committed to providing the highest quality products, ensuring reliability for those who protect and save lives and advance medical research. With a strong focus on vertical integration to ensure supply chain resiliency, we are making significant investments to support our partners for generations to come. At the same time, we remain dedicated to minimizing our environmental footprint, striving for a healthier world in every way,” stated Medicom CEO, Guillaume Laverdure.

The Montreal factory stands as a testament to Medicom’s commitment to local production and sustainability. With 54% of its supplies sourced from local companies and the use of raw materials produced just 41 kilometers away at Medicom’s Saint-Eustache facility, the factory reduces its ecological footprint while supporting the local economy.

The facility has a total annual production capacity of 548 million surgical masks and N95 making it the only Quebec-based facility with NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) certification.

Minister Fréchette’s visit highlights the province’s continued commitment to supporting homegrown companies like Medicom that play a vital role in Canada’s strategic healthcare supply.
