Medicom cares for communities across the globe not only by producing safe and reliable infection control solutions and personal protective equipment, but also by supporting a variety of non-profit organizations that share our mission of making the world safer and healthier.

Our company and our employees across the globe live our philanthropic responsibility values every day by supporting initiatives that help ensure access to medical care, food, education and environmental sustainability.

Here are just a few of the causes that Medicom supports:

In North America

Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation

Medicom is a proud supporter of the Lakeshore General Hospital, a hospital that serves the community where the company’s head office is located. In addition to donating personal protective equipment, including masks, gowns and gloves, to the hospital, each year, Medicom holds a variety of events to raise funds that are then matched by the company’s owner. Fundraising activities include bake sales, company branded activewear sales, fitness challenges, raffles and more.

World Central Kitchen

Every year, Medicom team members from across the globe meet in Montreal. This year, the pandemic forced us to move our annual event online. Determined to turn a negative into a positive, Medicom leadership decided to donate the significant savings (cancelled flights, hotels, venues, etc.) to World Central Kitchen, an organization that shares our commitment to making the world safer and healthier. Founded by celebrity chef José Andrés, this not-for-profit non-governmental organization is devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. In addition to its monumental COVID response, the organization most recently provided meals in St. Vincent following the volcano eruption.

Quebec Food Banks

The Quebec Food Banks network serves more than 500,000 hungry Quebecers every month. By redirecting foodstuffs throughout the food chain, the network promotes food recovery and reduces environmental impact while responding to the needs of vulnerable Quebecers. Throughout the pandemic, Quebec Food Banks has provided food assistance to vulnerable populations, including Quebecers who found themselves unemployed overnight and families struggling to make ends meet. To mark the one-year “anniversary” of the pandemic, the Medicom team worked hard to produce a half-million surplus procedure masks at its new Montreal plant to donate to the network to help ensure the health and safety of its employees, volunteers and beneficiaries.

Dental Trade Alliance Scholarship Program

Medicom is a proud sponsor of the Dental Trade Alliance and supports their annual scholarship program, which provides financial support to dental students who demonstrate academic excellence in dentistry, financial need and a commitment to community service.

Sponsorship of CAE Vaccination Centre

When local high-tech company CAE announced plans to open Quebec’s first corporate COVID-19 vaccination centre, Medicom was proud to contribute by providing funding and donating personal protective equipment, including masks, gloves and gowns.

One Tree Planted

One Tree Planted is an environmental non-profit organization dedicated to global reforestation. In 2020 alone, they planted over 10 million trees in 28 countries, reforesting nearly 16,000 hectares of land. In honour of Earth Day 2021, Medicom chose to work with organization to plant 10,000 trees in Canada as part of a voluntary environmental offset program for the mask boxes used at the company’s new Montreal manufacturing facility and its long-term corporate sustainability commitment. In October 2021, the company announced its plans to plant another 30,000 trees through the organization.
